A large, Grade 2 listed building with plenty of off-street parking, The Portway Annexe offers much scope for use by the community and the council’s Open Spaces team. Already, a group of charities and good causes has stepped forward as potential users whose rents will help pay for the running of the building.
Reckoned to be worth about £600,000, the City Council would have to borrow money from the Public Works Loan Board and the size of loan it can bid for is usually capped at £500,000.
