“Neighbourhood Plans give a voice to local people regarding their particular area. The Steering Group is now armed with a Wells Design Guide and a Housing Needs Assessment.
The former is still in draft but the HNA is finalised and a copy can be found on the Wells City Council web site. We have also produced a first draft of a list of Local Green Spaces worthy of protection incorporating a map and photos. This is also on the WCC web site.
“We are working on revisions of the existing draft Plan covering matters such as housing, transport, heritage, the natural environment, retail, tourism and biodiversity. Currently we plan to launch our public consultation before the beginning of this summer.
“We meet (temporarily by Zoom) on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm and the agendas can be found on the WCC web site. It would be good to have more volunteers. Some experience of planning would be useful, and I have already mentioned the kind of topics that the Plan is covering.
